Rent payments

We offer an extensive range of rent payment methods, including:

Our rent collection methods are accessible and simple to use with a range of payment timescales available to suit tenants’ needs. Rent can be paid by cash, cheque, postal order, debit or credit card.

Checking your rent account

Up-to-date balances on rent accounts and advice on rent payment methods are available from our Housing Staff.

Arrears management

We aim to minimise the level of current tenant arrears in a sensitive and supportive manner based on advice and counselling.

We promote effective communication with tenants proactively encouraging a positive payment culture. Advice and guidance is available for tenants who have difficulty in paying rent, with useful information leaflets available.

Recovery of Possession of property is a last resort.

Money and Welfare Advice is available in partnership with the Local Authority, an appointment can be arranged with a Money Adviser by contacting our office or North Lanarkshire Council Money Advice on 01698 346790.

 
Housing benefit

In partnership with local authorities, we provide Housing Benefit Verification services. Housing Benefit forms are available from our office, with support and guidance provided by staff in completion of forms and review of information to ensure the process is uncomplicated for applicants.

Affordability in rent setting

We are committed to developing affordable rents as address within our Rent Setting Strategy.

How your rent is calculated

We have an information leaflet available to explain how your rent is calculated. Our standard Rent Setting process is a points based system, which awards points for specific property characteristics. The total points accumulated for amenities within the property is multiplied by a value for each point, called pence per point.
