40th Anniversary Celebrations

Fiona Tonner, Chairperson, welcomed everyone to the 40th Annual General Meeting celebrations on 26 June 2018 and advised that the first Management Committee meeting of the Association was held on 1 February 1978 as West Motherwell District Housing Association with the intention of improving living conditions for those in most housing need.  Since that day the Association has grown to the extent that it now provides housing to over 900 households.  As a thriving community enterprise, the Association now has an annual turnover of £4m, contributes over £1m to the local economy through its use of local contractors and suppliers and has a reputation as being an excellent employer for it’s 22 permanent members of staff.

On reaching this milestone, Mrs Fiona Tonner stated that “the Association is indebted to the founding Management Committee who provided the stable foundations on which the organisation could grow and develop into the business it is today."
